First of all, let me start off by saying these Bluford Series books give me life and I can't stop reading them.
In chapter five, Hakeem tells Darcy he needs to talk to her.
Darcy thought after all that happened maybe he finally has come to his senses
and everything he has to say will be fine but it turns out rather tragic for
her. They were breaking up! He explains to her that he cannot handle all that
he is going through and he needs time alone. Darcy felt like sinking into the
earth. Was Hakeem being fair to her? Darcy runs into Brian, who had given her
the rose… Maybe Darcy was falling for Brian…
Chapter six talks about Darcy’s non-stop contact with
Brian... Was he stalking her or was it just a coincidence? Darcy and Brian hang
out and their relationship seems to be getting tighter. It was time for Hakeem
to move to Detroit and Darcy decided to go over his house but the guilt she
felt, she had to leave. Darcy felt that she misjudged Hakeem and his family
because she never really knew they had been going through.
Personal Reflection: These two chapters really had me going!
At first when Hakeem decided to talk to Darcy I thought he was going to
apologize for his actions and explain all that has been happening and I got
really excited to hear the outcome but just like Darcy, I was wrong. I kind of
Darcy’s mixed emotions. Can you imagine waiting to hear from someone you care
about and the news they deliver just hurts? Again, Darcy still has to understand Hakeem’s
situation and maybe he did it for the right reason but she better be careful of
Brian. These books are amazing!
The organizational patterns I discovered are Cause and
Effect and Compare and Contrast.
I believe the author's intent is to entertain the readers and give them a sense of what is about to happen.
